Ladybugs

Let me introduce to you one of the good guys of the garden: the awesome ladybug. Got aphids or scale or mealybugs on your plants? Instead of using chemicals to kill them, let nature take its course and the ladybugs will come in and eat up all those bad bugs. Yep, nature is awesome.

Petunias

Petunias. Another nice cool season annual that comes in so many beautiful colors. Give them sun to part sun, deadhead the faded blooms, protect from hard freezes, and they’ll give you wave after wave of gorgeous trumpet shaped blooms till it gets too hot in early summer. Great in containers, hanging baskets, or garden beds.

$2/4″ container. $15/12″ container garden (petunia, violas, and snapdragon).

‘Diamond Frost’ Euphorbia

“Diamond Frost” Euphorbia is so very pretty. It’s a very long blooming plant that doesn’t mind our heat and can take quite a bit of cool weather. Technically it’s a perennial, but I have customers who say it’s bloomed year round during warm winters.

Sun to part sun. Beautiful mounding/trailing habit makes it great in raised beds, hanging baskets, or containers. Also does just fine and dandy in your garden beds. Grows 1 – 2′ tall and wide. No need to deadhead … just give it a haircut if it gets too leggy.  $5.00/1-gallon.
