“Shady Characters” Seminar and Butterfly Host Plants

Tomorrow, Saturday the 17th, is the next “Shady Characters” seminar.  It’s from 1:00 – 3:00, is free, just remember to bring a chair.

The last seminar for August is Thursday, the 22nd, 12:00 – 2:00.

Be sure to check out the Upcoming Events page to see what R&G has planned next.

Butterfly host plants are coming!  Dill, fennel, cilantro, and coriander are being delivered today.  Monday I’m picking up Asclepias tuberosa and incarnata, i.e., milkweed.  Quantities are limited, so if you know you want some let me know and I’ll set them aside for you.  Also, I buy all my host plants from suppliers that do not spray them.

Happy digging in the dirt!

“Shady Characters” Seminar

Do you know what this awesome plant is?

Fatsia japonica

No?  Well, then you need to come to the “Shady Characters” seminar tonight, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., and find out!

It’s Flowers and Fun Night so bring your favorite adult or non-adult beverage.  We’re gonna hang out and enjoy the end of the day by talking about plants.  Bring a chair also.

Lake Helen Play

How cool is this! In honor of Lake Helen’s 125th Jubilee Celebration, the Shoestring Theatre of Lake Helen is putting on a play called “Lake Helen, the Gem of Florida.” The content of the play is from the memories and stories of some of Lake Helen’s early residents.

I have tickets for sale at the Garden Center.

“Shady Characters” Seminar

I am so late in getting this added to the Calendar of Events!

The seminar theme for August is “Shady Characters.”  It’s all about what cool plants love to live in the part-shade to shade areas of your garden.  Trust me…there are way more choices out there than you think.

Seminar dates are:

  • Wednesday, 08/07, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  This is Flowers and Fun Night!  Bring your favorite adult or non-adult beverage and we’ll hang out, talk about plants, and have a relaxing fun evening.
  • Saturday, 08/17, 1:00 – 3:00
  • Thursday, 08/22, 12:00 – 2:00

The seminars are free.  Just remember to bring a chair.

See you there!
